What are the 5Ws?


  • Who?
  • What? 
  • Where?
  • When? 
  • Why?

Three step process for gathering the news:



  1. Find your story. Get the facts.
  2. Get someones opinion by interviewing them and structure your interview based on the 5Ws.
  3. Then you can find a second person to interview for a second view and opinion.

Lights! Camera! Action! Learning Objective: - to develop an effective film marketing strategy  Movie Marketing; Release date - January 2021 gives time.  Case Study: Genre - action, spy. People who like action, adventure movies so therefore uses guns and mystery. Dark colour, reflections the confusion of the film. Like a different universe. Using Trailers: Trailers are shown across different platforms - cinemas, TV, online. Distributors have to decide when to release the trailer/s; what else the audience would watch; what films to link it to; where and when it would get the most exposure. Hobbs and Shaw, the Joker, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Birds of Prey. In India it was the Joker because it is a different audience so different movies will appeal to them. Originally for July 17, 2020 in IMAX but delayed until July 31. My Poster would be displayed outside cinemas, maybe side of buses. Trailer would be on YouTube and before other movies in the Cinema.
