What is the purpose of news?

  • To inform the public on the tv or in the newspaper.
  • News can be used for entertainment purposes as well.
  • To provide a distraction of other places people are unable to get to or have little influence over.
  • People making it and presenting it make money off of it.
  • To persuade people.
  • For journalists to make money with their stories.
  • Newspapers help readers become informed citizens and make better decisions by providing lots of facts.
  • Keeping the public informed about important events.
  • News comes from wars, natural disasters and terrorism.
  • They use the most horrible and gruesome pictures to show the public.
  • 3 key factors of news: information, entertainment and persuasion.
  • Education and profit.
  • Inform and influence.
  • Entertain.

Lights! Camera! Action! Learning Objective: - to develop an effective film marketing strategy  Movie Marketing; Release date - January 2021 gives time.  Case Study: Genre - action, spy. People who like action, adventure movies so therefore uses guns and mystery. Dark colour, reflections the confusion of the film. Like a different universe. Using Trailers: Trailers are shown across different platforms - cinemas, TV, online. Distributors have to decide when to release the trailer/s; what else the audience would watch; what films to link it to; where and when it would get the most exposure. Hobbs and Shaw, the Joker, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Birds of Prey. In India it was the Joker because it is a different audience so different movies will appeal to them. Originally for July 17, 2020 in IMAX but delayed until July 31. My Poster would be displayed outside cinemas, maybe side of buses. Trailer would be on YouTube and before other movies in the Cinema.
