Selling a Movie - UK film distributors alone spend around £300 million a year on bringing new releases to market, and building awareness and interest among audiences. It's a fast-moving, highly competitive, high-stakes business.
The -Marketing Plan - produced to complement the overall distribution plan - is designed to navigate a route to market the allows interest to peak as the film opens in cinemas. This will take into account the competitive environment, to ensure that the opportunities to raise interest and awareness are not lost under the weight of other films or entertainment on release.
Film Posters - A film poster and the artwork is very important and one of the main marketing tools. With probably a dozen or more different posters on display in a cinema at any one time, distributors and their designers must work hard to make each one stand out.
